Resurrection
Hey folks,
I have spent most of the day today trying to muster up the need to work in the studio but I was having no luck until I went trawling through the internet looking for cool live bands and records.
I came across a few but when listening to them I felt (arrogantly) that I would be able to do it as easily as them and went and set about wriitng some new material away from the usual minimal stuff.
So I did, I have had a hook in my head for the last week now that I knew would only be suited for heavier styles of music and I thought it would be a good idea to mix the dance orientated styles with a more rockier approach. Nothing new there but I thought it would work as long as all of the songs had a very large and juicy hook to the chorus.
So, I went ahead and programmed real drums for a change and wrote the hook (took me an hour to find the right notes on the keyboard) and then set about laying guide tracks for the bass and the guitars. I am happy to say that if the finished product swings and is as hooky as the current demo I will be very happy indeed!
Obviously there is still alot of work to go on but I have listened to it over twenty times and haven't got sick of it yet which is good as I have Paul coming in tomorrow or the next day to record some bass for me before I get Paddy over to do the guitars.
Once I have written and demoed four tracks I will post them here for you to check out but for the time being it is still a project that is going under the name 'PunchUp Pilate'.
