Moog Intros Minimoog Model D Bob Moog Tribute Edition

Moog Music has introduced the Minimoog Model D Bob Moog Tribute Edition, a limited-edition version of the classic Minimoog design reissue that not only honors synth pioneer Bob Moog, but supports The Bob Moog Foundation, an independent non-profit dedicated to preserving Bob Moog’s legacy.

The Minimoog Model D BMTE is a variant of Moog’s Minimoog’s reissue. It features the 100% analog circuit path of the original instrument, plus the modern functional enhancements of the reissue.

The Bob Moog Tribute Edition is hand-built in North Carolina. It features a custom quartersawn white oak cabinet, a durable metal chassis and a premium Fatar keybed, with velocity and aftertouch support via MIDI/CV.

The instrument features a custom badge that uses a metal photo-anodization process, which harkens back to the modular panel graphics found on the System 55, System 35, and Model 10 synthesizers, as well as select early R.A. Moog Co. Minimoogs.

The instrument also comes with a SR Series travel case.

Here’s a couple of videos from Moogfest 2026, featuring synth guru Nick Montoya discussing the modern Minimoog reissue, and a look at how it is built:

The Bob Moog Tribute Edition Minimoog Model D is a limited edition of 500 instruments. $500 from each unit sold will be donated directly to The Bob Moog Foundation, supporting the Moogseum, Dr. Bob’s Sound School, and the preservation of the Bob Moog Foundation Archives.

Pricing and Availability:

The Minimoog Model D Bob Moog Tribute Edition is available now, priced at $3,999 USD.
