Free Online Nord Modular G1 Patch Editor

Developer Peter van der Noord has introduced Nord Modular G1 Editor, a free browser-based patch editor for the Nord Modular G1.

The Nord Modular G1 Editor lets you create and edit patches. Van der Noord plans to add community patch sharing in the future.

The Editor should probably be considered a ‘beta’ release. The developer recommends using Chrome with it, and notes that “This is still a very early version. A lot of things don’t work or don’t work correctly yet.”

  1. The G1 Modular family still sounds phenomenal and there are a couple of options for editors at this time, but having choice and multiple options is a beautiful thing in order to keep these instruments alive… So props and tip of cap to Peter for his efforts and please keep up the good work sir!

  2. The Nord Modular is such an impressive beast, its a shame that its market timing kept it from persisting. Now, you can acquire numerous synths that do the same things and more. Their synth led the way, in one sense.

I don’t blame them for going with stage pianos and just a couple of lead-type synths. It was a smart move to put their shop’s resources into more inviting instruments.

The editor isn’t far behind the hardware in being such a modern museum piece, its almost vapor. I’ll bet a lot of people would jump on a full softsynth version…

  3. The Nord Modular is great but unobtanium. I guess I’m happy for those who own them.

In the mean time I’ll be over here with my Ksoloti…

  4. It would be nice if someone made an analog nord modular like synth, controlled by a vst, with usb audio pass through in a 1u format like the g2 engine.
The Waldorf afb16 was the closest but totally failed commercially, maybe ahead of its time, maybe people just didn’t get it.
