At Superbooth 2026, Tubbutec has introduced the TR-6oh6, a CPU upgrade and MIDI interface for the Roland TR-606.
The TR-6oh6 mod adds an improved sequencer, additional instruments, live performance features and MIDI.

- Copy, paste and clear patterns easily

- Instrument muting

- Ratchet / Flam with 7 different modes
- Play directions (forward, backward, ping-pong, random)
- Swing with adjustable amount
- Cymbal and open hihat decay control via MIDI
- Legacy mode: The same features as the original, but with MIDI
- Built-in configuration menu to quickly set many additional parameters
- Easy to install, no case drilling needed

This is very very hard to resist. Had the Juno6 mod from Tubbutec for years now and once you get to detune the voices there’s no going back. The 606 has mainly been resting for the past ten years, this mod would certainly change that game.
I bought a demo unit Quicksilver 606 off the socialentropy guys back when they were still around. I suppose it was like the precursor to this mod. Same idea just a different implementation and a less modern feature set.
