Isla Instruments Ceases Operations

Isla Instruments LLC – makers of the S2400 sampling workstation – have announced that they have permanently ceased operations.

Founder Brad Holland, though, says that the notice is ‘just a formality’.

The Isla site currently has this message:

The online store is closed and no new orders can be placed.

Customer support resources and the user forum will remain available here for existing customers.

Future products designed by Brad Holland will be released separately and information will be announced elsewhere in due course.

While there hasn’t been an official announcement on this yet, it sounds like Isla will be returning, with a new name, Isla Electronics.

Holland shared via the Synthtopia Facebook page that “This is a formality. I will be personally updating everyone very soon. I’m in the middle of relocating thanks for your patience and understanding. BRB!!!!”

  1. The S2400’s already a bit of a cult favourite, solid build, lofi charm and the firmware’s only getting better. I admire the Caladan’s engineering, modular, expandable, built like a tank and with those upcoming voice cards of minimoog, 303, sem and that open-source api.
Clever bit of business. Even if it’s a niche it’s a forward thinking gear.

    1. Voice cards for minimoog, X0X, Sem? Hahaha
      Dreamworld
Who is going to buy those?
You may want to look at what Behringer is selling lately. 😉

      1. You seem to be uninformed, lots of people are interested, check the isla Instruments forum, elektronauts, gearspace, modwiggler…

          1. Ignorant comment. He is closing the business because he is moving to the UK where he will resume under the same name. In order to do that he must close the US based LLC and set up a UK Ltd company which will take him a few months to sort out.

            1. Thanks for the clarification, Momo. With the headline, I was concerned my pre-order money for the Caladan just got flushed down the toilet. And it seems like he’s very close to completing the development of it.
