Casio Sampler Sneak Preview At 2026 Winter NAMM Show

At the 2026 NAMM Show, Casio was offering a sneak preview of the Casio SX-C1 Sampler – a new portable sampling workstation.

The Sampler on display was a pre-production prototype. It features a retro design that seems to be inspired by vintage computers and gaming devices, but also offers a 4×4 pad grid for performance and sequencing, and a bright OLED display.

The Casio SX-C1 Sampler can be bus-powered or battery-powered, is pre-loaded with old-school Casio sounds, and is designed to let you sample and sequence quickly and easily.

Here’s a preview of the Casio Sampler from the NAMM Show floor:

Pricing and Availability:

Our Casio contact told us that the company expects this to be available in Summer 0f 2026 in Japan, with pricing to be determined – but they’re still evaluating whether or not to release the new Casio Sampler in the US. Based on the response it was getting at the show, it seems like there’s a lot of interest in it.

Official details are still to come at the Casio site.

  1. Literally the best thing announced at NAMM hands down. Excited to see what Casio will bring in the future! 🙂

  2. Did they mentuon room for 64gb of samples? Easily could be a pocket operator killer, build looks a lot better.

Let’s now see if casio will get addicted to format like the volcas and pocket operator, or even the liven/sonicware series.

I keep seeing music companies including gamer d pads, this one is at the top. Hopefully indicating hey its meant to be played.

    1. They are releasing it in the USA… it’s just a prototype right now. It’s also not out in Japan yet either, because it’s a prototype.

      1. “They are releasing it in the USA… ”

That’s not what Casio was saying at the NAMM Show. They told me that they had no idea if this was going to be released in the US. It seemed like they had it at the show to gauge interest. My source on that was Rich Formidonni, who’s one of their product specialists.

        1. But, why would Casio fly all the way to the United States to a US trade show to show it off? They’re probably testing the waters and looking at the response before committing deeply since they’re an international company and providing the sampler globally is a bigger challenge they want to be sure of.
