Synapse Audio Software has updated The Legend HZ, their software synth created in collaboration with Hans Zimmer & Kevin Schroeder, to version 2.1.
Here’s what’s new in The Legend HZ v2.1:
- The main addition is a paragraphic equalizer on the back panel, giving more tonal shaping options directly within the instrument.
- The compressor section also receives an upgrade with a new saturation feature, adding warmth and character to the final output.
- For users working with alternative tuning systems, the updated version introduces microtuning support via MTS-ESP, opening up The Legend HZ to a wider range of musical styles and experimental workflows.
- Rounding out the update are 50 new factory presets, crafted by sound designer Kevin Schroeder.

My Legend HZ used to work, I own it but now it says it is not authorized. Fuck that. I have too many great synths too bother with this bullshit. I have the Moog Muse, with this plug-in mysteriously not working all of a sudden for no reason, who needs this erratic plug-in?
Well to counterbalance it here, I owned (and still) Synapse Audio plugins for years and I never had one single issue or hiccup. Ever. I blame your system way before blaming their rock-solid plugins.
Well my system which is up to date was working fine. Then all of sudden for no reason it says it is not authorized. One it was authorized the next day it is not. No changes in my system. No reason for it to do that. But since I have the Moog Muse which is fantastic I feel no need to try to figure out how to re-authorize? I shouldn’t have to do that. I am not even sure how to re-authorize?
Well, it does happens you know, that’s just life with computers. Then if you care enough (you don’t seem so) for the plugin, I suggest you to contact Synapse Audio, they are very responsive and have great support, I’m sure they can help you out.
Nice update. The saturation is cool but the one I use a lot is the new graphic EQ as I find it very quick and intuitive to get the desired sound on synths, from using these specific bands (which I use a lot on UAD Vision channel strip).
I have had 0 issues with the update process as well.
One of the best sounding plug ins, just got even better. If they update the MSEG next, it will be awesome.
I got it to re-authorize. I had not used it for quite awhile….I forgot how good it is.
