In reply to Strange. if you were referring to me: i am not advocating for a MIDI in a mixer. i don't even use a computer for music, only coding plugins. whatever gave you that idea? i'm advocating for user effects, to write plugins for my own custom uses, and sinevibes does some very nice low resource effects and if you weren't, oh well.

Whoever needed MIDI in a mixer? Surely any MIDI duty would be done before bus stage?

Ever notice how manufacturers release just small increments of hardware instead of what they are capable of (with easily scalable gear once the R&D is done)?

In reply to Joe Bob. this is a very unrevealing image. look at one which shows 1/4 inch panel mounted jack with fasteners, although it's still PCB mounted. google image will show you better.

I hope this one doesn’t suffer from fragile input/output jacks, like the rest of the NTS line – wouldn’t want that on a mixer, where cables are more frequently connected and disconnected.

I will compare the price of this one to the Lifeforms System Interface by Pittsburgh Modular that I use in one case. Depending on the price – it might be worth it to upgrade for me, since I will regain some HP and gain more effects. I am not in dire need of effects, but having them integrated and depending on quality, they might bring unexpected seismic shift in mentioned case. :]

‘It’s not clear yet whether this will support custom ‘logue effects, but – if it does – it would be a killer feature.” – it doesn’t…. yet. perhaps with enough interest it could though. make some noise. NTS-(n) isn’t logue by default.
