Thanks for the shoutout Synthtopia! We absolutely fell in love with this Synth while working on this pack.
I love how it can be as simple as a one-sample-one-layer synth, or as deep as four layers of crazy wave sequencing with vector modulation on top, and everything that is in between.
I also love how intuitive the software version is to program, and the million little tricks this beast has up it’s sleeve. The little presets for every area make the whole thing feel like one big playground where things can be swapped and mixed and matched and experimented forever.
It is maybe not an absolutely perfect synth, but the fun, creativity and usability factors are extremely high, was an absolute blast putting this expansion product together.
In short – if you haven’t checked out this synth, I highly recommend it. Lots of cool parts, and all together more than the sum of its parts ??
P.S. – for our work we got hold of both the hardware and plugin versions, I think the plugin version is the winner here – easier to program and just a hassle free plugin in your DAW. That being said, the hardware is really reasonably priced.
Another nice addition in the series of amazing OS products!
Cheers Micu, let us know what music, sound or projects you used our wavestate expansion on we would love to know and will share in page
That’s getting into mini-Omnisphere territory, with 1600 programs. Wavestate deserves more credit for being so broad. I wasn’t seeking a new synth, but I love enhancing what I have. I look forward to building on this set.
Good call on the Omnisphere mention, haven’t thought about it that way, but very true, the engine is that involved indeed!
This expansion is just AMAZING! it will take me years to explore all these new sounds. Highly recommended.
That is only one part of course! Have no fear and dive deep into editing and mix-matching the various bits and pieces – that is the real power of the Wavestate!
Hi Yaron
Nice presets for my wavestate thank you ?
Hey Dor, I think I remember you! If it is indeed you, this is perfect for your style of music indeed!
As a hardcore user of Porphyra, I find OSS products to be of exceptionally high quality, with sounds that are both inspiring and outrageous.
I’m confident that their Wavestate Expansion continues this pattern of excellence, and I’m eager to try it out soon.
Thanks for being along for the ride since the start, you will find a mixture of those Porphyra vibes as well as ideas from sound design featured in our own other instruments, coming to life together on the Korg.
Long time Omnisphere user here, this expansion is pretty damn impressive. Good work from Ocean Swift once again.
Second comment here that sees parallels between Omnisphere and the Wavestate (and our expansion), very interesting food for thought, thanks!
Sounds good but that size of samples will destroy the samples that a lot of us have with Wavestate Mk1. I’ve very methodically and meticulously kept my purchases of new soundbanks to those that do not have huge samples because if I put in new ones, the already existing ones are booted out. Putting another 3 gb of samples is not really an option.
That is indeed the limitation for the hardware. It of course depends on what kind of user you are, in your case of course that entailed swapping in/out which might not be an option in real time usage.
Bought it at launch, enjoying it a lot. I saw they are doing the Mod Wave too, looking forward.
Absolutely 🙂 Mod Wave project is already in the oven.
