Tiptop Audio Resonator Brings Back Classic Moog Polymoog Sound

Tiptop Audio has introduced Resonator, a recreation of the resonator section of the classic 1975 Moog Polymoog in Eurorack format.

Tiptop’s Resonator has been enhanced with voltage control over every parameter, selectable frequency ranges for each resonator, multiple gain stages, an emphasis CV with limiter, and a bypass switch.

The TA Resonator is fully analog, ensuring a “pure, clean analog sound — the dreamy, resonating tones at their finest.” They say that the resonator excels as an end-of-chain effect for our polyphonic modules, and with a wide range of audio sources, including samples, drums, and even full mixes.

Pricing and Availability:

The Tiptop Audio Resonator is available now for $189 USD.

  1. good to see that resonators (and resonant filterbanks) are being produced again. There was a time where parallel bandpass filters were used for sound shaping. Yamaha CS-80, Korg 3xxx series, Polymoog.

  2. They never stopped being produced in this format. The most impressive example was the dirt cheap Fonitronik 3100 which has been around for over a decade. This
moduke is a nice addition to the options available ?

  3. It’s a nice module.
However, every single sound example in the embedded video goes though a multi effect module. Every one.
I’d like to hear a more comprehensive dry / wet comparison without effects please.
