Morphor has announced that the ECHON 6 — the world’s first polyphonic synthesizer based around BBD (Bucket-Brigade Delay) resonators — is now available to pre-order.
Each of its six voices features a discrete BBD delay-line resonator that tracks the keyboard, producing organic overtones and complex harmonic depth. The Morphor ECHON 6 will generate anything from plucked and bowed strings, to leads and basses, to big pads and evolving soundscapes.

Pricing and Availability:
The ECHON 6 is scheduled to ship in early February 2026; pre-orders are open for the first batch, with a MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) of €2,295.00 EUR (including VAT).
Sounds great! Would be cool to see how this uses external audio in the exciter section.
I expect it to be like the Steampipe, where incoming sound is being chopped up into burst bits that are still easily recognisable. (Loopop used an Obaba speech if I’m remembering correctly). It doesn’t seem these guys are reinventing anything, except they go the analog way. Individual outs is a nice touch, and the amount of modulation seems more than enough (can’t say that often!), but I am not sure if these sounds really need analog to begin with.
Anyway, it’s kind of an exciting (heh) box. Didn’t fall for the Steampipe with seemed cool, but too limited in sound and modulation, and boring effects, and fell of my radar rather quick. ! covered myself with a P12 and EaganMatrix (stereo input) module to get into this modelling territory for the moment, after the Omega fell through and I needed to scratch that itch I had been nurturing. Let’s see where this ends up.
I think we can expect a few more synths doing these things, because it’s kind of the new trend now that granular has been well covered.
The issue with the Steam Pipe is that it was an ancient Reaktor ensemble placed inside some nice but overpriced hardware. Definitely one of the most bizarre things Erica has ever released.
Sounds interesting, and it’s an interesting architecture. But crikey: an intro price of Euro €2k!! Sorry man, but for what this is, that’s too rich for my blood. I’ll check out what can be done in software instead…
I’m sorry to say but any free VST plugin can deliver much, much more….
It sounds truly bad I’m afraid…
€2,295.00 EUR – there’s got be a mistake in the decimal point…
I think the true price is €22.95 EUR and that seems to be excessive…
I really liked some of the demos on Soundcloud. I would love a mono version of it in a small desktop format.
