In reply to Trevor Milburn. They're hand-built to order, with the option for custom mods and old-new stock parts. I don't think their clientele are buying from Behringer.

To put it bluntly – this (and plenty of other high-end, hand-built stuff) isn’t for the “but Behringerrrrr!!!” crowd, in the same way that Ferrari isn’t concerned about Corvettes. If you have the means to afford a $5K synth (and many do), you’re not really that concerned about value in the same way. And there are some who really appreciate nicely made things using top-flight components, etc. Not saying you shouldn’t buy B thing, it’s just a different product for a different market.

In reply to me. Same thought. Buy a bunch of CMOS ICs and a breadboard and go to town. I was lucky enough to hear an A in person and this demo is not it. I`m sure it will sound great in an artist's hands though.

In reply to Trevor Milburn. Good luck getting a hold of even one BCS3 when and if they drop. And if they do, at least the first 3 runs will be sold out before they ever hit the shelf. So it could be years.

It looks like a fantastic bit of kit and will no doubt be out of my reach, but that demo is terrible – seriously I’ve heard better sounds from a £20 Atari punk console if you like that kind of randomness.

Looking at the prices of the other models in the series I wonder how sales will go when Behringer release their much awaited VCS3 clone at a fraction (10%?) of the price of the Switchtrix version. Personally, I would rather have 3 Behringer VCS3s than a single Switchtrix model – much more versatile all other things considered.
