In reply to Lerxst. I have never once thought that a synth is fun to program, just fun to play. That said, beasts like the DX7 and Casio CZ series make me feel angst when programming from the panel. Absolutely impossible.

I once had a Juno-1 and got solid performance from it, so I went for the TALpha. The sound is right on the mark, beefed up with polyphony and effects. I get the nostalgia rush plus greater musical capabilities. TAL deserves your demo time.

Yes, it is almost identical, at least on those presets.

BUT! The big question is: Is it as fun to program as the real hardware?
And the answer is: Errrrr, yes. Probably.
