I actually have thought a lot about implementing this – except more in the WinAmp skin direction !

What I’ve always wanted in a tape emulator is have the varispeed able to go down or up octaves, for slowing down things ridiculously.

Yes reverse recording is possible as well as super realistic varispeed stacking 🙂

Hi Kurt! I’ve been working on this for a year and started beta testing this publicly since January. Here’s the first post when I went public.

His came out publicly a month later and its most likely just a strange coincidence. He seems like an awesome guy – weirdly enough we have the same last name.

Also you should try out the minimal ui if you don’t like skeuomorphic. Thanks!

My question, too. I bought Tape 16, and it is awesome, and the interface is wonderful.

The GUI looks terrible, but that doesn’t mean anything about its sound or usability.

To my knowledge, still only the OP1 series from TE actually models tape recording properly with this.

I just saw a video from Crow Hill that was talking about “Tape DAW” that seems to have a slightly different approach to commit-to-tape: https://emrmusicgroup.com/tape16/

Would be great if one could choose skins to make it look like Teac/Tascam, Yamsha, Akai, Fostex or Marantz multitrackers.
