Rossum Electro-Music has announced the availability of the SP-1200 40th Anniversary Edition, a limited-edition version of their reissue of the classic sampler.
Limited to 100 units, the SP-1200 now ships with matching black powder-coated steel panels and machined aluminum side/end caps.
The SP-1200 40th Anniversary Edition includes a numbered, limited-edition 40th Anniversary poster, printed in gold foil on acid-free paper.
The Rossum SP-1200 is an authentic reissue of the classic SP-1200 sampling percussion system. E-mu Systems co-founder and original SP-12 and SP-1200 designer Dave Rossum has duplicated the original analog and digital electronics of the landmark 12-bit drum machine sampler as closely as is possible, thirty-five years after its debut.
Inside and out, SP-1200 is designed to be faithful to the original, and preserves the sound and character of the classic vintage instrument.
Pricing and Availability:
The SP-1200 40th Anniversary Edition is available now for $4,999 USD.

Why not just get an Isla Instruments S2400?
Would you say that the work-flow on the SP1200 and S2400 is the same?
It doesn’t sound the same. Similar, but not the same.
The Isla shits all over this thing
I second this!!
Looks nice but isn’t this a bit premature? By my count there are 2 years left until the 40 year anniversary of the SP-1200.
Since the SP-12, the start of the SP series in 1985, the same for the 35th anniversary edition from 2020.
Salute Mr. Rossum and THANK YOU SIR!.
