USB MIDI, Sync and/or filters are indeed very necessary additions for a compelling device.
The comment that suggested Koala Samples as an alternative fails to understand the importance and preference for a dedicated standalone device.

If Casio had any good sense (and an understanding of their own sampler history), they’d reimplement **that analogue filter** that came with the original FZ sampler models and if pushed with high resonance gave a sort of distortion ‘squark’ sound so beloved by musicians like Warp Records very own ‘LFO’. https://youtu.be/bwNvtz1HZ3A?si=UZo0xV7kHDNVDZ3s

Why doesn’t Casio engineer some dynamic filters? My 40 year old SK-4 sounds the same as this machine. My XW-G1 has the same tricks. Casio needs to learn from Yamaha, Korg, Akai etc and insert proper, independent filters with velocity envelopes to their products.

Wait a minute. There’s no Midi in or out. There’s no sync for Volcas, Pocket Operators etc.
Do Casio expect people to use this exclusively?
Okay, it has USB for streaming audio. Maybe it can do Midi too.
But that sucks if you want to use it with other gear.
If this is how the final product turns out then is a definite pass from me.
Even if it was like £50, without Midi / sync why even bother?
