In his latest EZBOT video, Elektron guru Matthew Piecora takes a very in-depth look at the new Tonverk multisampler.
The Tonverk offers a lot of features that have never been found on an Elektron device. Piecora discusses what’s new, demonstrates its capabilities and shows how it can be used to make music.
Piecora sees the Tonverk as ‘the friend of your modular’, because it lets you take a patch and turn it into a polyphonic synthesizer.
Check out the video, and let us know what you think of the new Elektron Tonverk in the comments!
Missing a lot of features like basic sample slicing. Also you can’t even filter presets… And so many bugs already. Hold out for an update or two people!!! Or get an Ableton Move/Push!
Polyphony! Finally. The feature set is a little half-baked, but I think this was to get the device out before the quarter ends. You can see true potential here, and I love that it leans into multisampling. At $1600 though, it feel like a wait-and-see device, depending on what they add via updates.
Every time im out they pull me back in…
its like Elektron version of “V-synth-lite”
without D-beam… so… fairly neutered
its definitely not even close to the 15+ year old OctaTrack
Saying sample slicing is “missing” from this instrument is like saying the 55” TV I knowingly purchased is missing 20 inches. It doesn’t promise sample slicing, so it isn’t missing. Is the Digitakt missing polyphony? Is the Octatrack missing autosample?
Octatrack has about1 1000x more features and possibilities.. even with a internal computer that is less powerful than a modern calculator
Why does everyone let Elektron get away with not releasing features that already exist on their other hardware? Elektron users love paying for less I guess
I recently bought an m8, I am not tempted with this.
yeh the M8 is more like original elektron
as in, devices you can get lost in forever and still not find all the possibilities
seems lame, no thanks
