Behringer JN-80 Synthesizer Hands-On Demo

Behringer today shared this hands-on demo of their new JN-80, their ‘supercharged’ take on the Roland Juno-60.

The Behringer JN-80 copies the look and architecture of the Juno-60, but offers 8-voice polyphony, vs the original’s 6-voice polyphony. It also reduces the size of the synth to fit into the Deepmind 12 form-factor and uses a 4-octave keyboard, instead of the 5-octave keyboard of the original.

Notably, the JN-80 offers a keyboard with aftertouch, extending the performance options of the synth beyond the original.

Pricing and Availability:

The Behringer JN-80 is available to pre-order, priced at $569 USD outside the US. Behringer doesn’t list a US price, but readers report street prices for US pre-orders being about $100 higher because of the current tariffs.

  1. have a juno 60 since 20 years so I am obviously biased on this one, even if I’m trying to be open. it seems to be missing something in the character (sounding a little bit too clean and polished) – which would of course make only a tiny difference to potential buyers I guess. so the sound is definitely there, but not the character imho

    1. Probably your Juno 60 sounded more clean 40 years ago too, as many electronic components have faded away, giving you more “character” over the years of use

  2. I think it sounds great, but as owner of a Roland Boutique JU-06A, where you have both Juno-60 and Juno-106 in one, im not sure if this would add anything new for me…beyond lesser space…
