Behringer today shared this hands-on demo of their new JN-80, their ‘supercharged’ take on the Roland Juno-60.
The Behringer JN-80 copies the look and architecture of the Juno-60, but offers 8-voice polyphony, vs the original’s 6-voice polyphony. It also reduces the size of the synth to fit into the Deepmind 12 form-factor and uses a 4-octave keyboard, instead of the 5-octave keyboard of the original.
Notably, the JN-80 offers a keyboard with aftertouch, extending the performance options of the synth beyond the original.
Check out the video demo, and share your thoughts on the Behringer JN-80 synthesizer in the comments!
Pricing and Availability:
The Behringer JN-80 is available to pre-order, priced at $569 USD outside the US. Behringer doesn’t list a US price, but readers report street prices for US pre-orders being about $100 higher because of the current tariffs.
it doesn’t have poly aftertouch.
it has aftertouch
Thanks for the feedback. I updated the post!
cool
Behringer claimed it was poly aftertouch in this video…https://youtu.be/wfDbb7jAXdw?list=RDwfDbb7jAXdw&t=365 Guess it was a mistake? 🙁
Sweetwater says:
49 semi-weighted full-size keys with polyphonic aftertouch and velocity sensitivity

According to the first official video. it says Poly Aftertoch with bold text.

time 6:03.
Behringer has been unclear on this, so we’re going by what they have in their specs:

“49 semi-weighted full-size keys featuring Aftertouch and velocity sensitivity”
You can clearly hear in the video that it is not polyphonic aftertouch
Just as boring as a Juno was back in 1983, once the DX7 hit the market.
bro its analog, bow down 😉
per official Behringer video, it does have poly after touch
have a juno 60 since 20 years so I am obviously biased on this one, even if I’m trying to be open. it seems to be missing something in the character (sounding a little bit too clean and polished) – which would of course make only a tiny difference to potential buyers I guess. so the sound is definitely there, but not the character imho
Yes, I prefer my synthesizers with a great sense of humour and a bit of an attitude. (what the hell are you blithering about?!)
Probably your Juno 60 sounded more clean 40 years ago too, as many electronic components have faded away, giving you more “character” over the years of use
Berenger creates ruthless analog synths
Old pianos have more character than new ones. Old cars have more character than new cars. Old is not new.

I think it sounds great, but as owner of a Roland Boutique JU-06A, where you have both Juno-60 and Juno-106 in one, im not sure if this would add anything new for me…beyond lesser space…
polyphony?
Very tempting,
hopefully there will be updates to add further features down the road
Sounds great!
I had But sold a Juno 106 years ago , always wanted another and this ticks enough boxes , plus I love the size , not too bulky.
