Goes to show what a great job Casio did making inexpensive but very usable digital synths in the 1980s. CZ-style phase distortion synthesis is underrated, 12-bit D/A still sounds surprisingly good (maybe low-pass filtering and some harmonic distortion actually helps?), and 7-stage envelopes should really make a comeback.
And… modern reverb can also help make things sound good.
100% agree, it is a shame that Casio abandoned PD because it sounds fantastic to this day and that was a tragic mistake on their part
