But for those of us using the rack VST in other DAWs, there’s just not enough to justify the upgrade. Reason 12 embedded in Ableton still does the job for me. Not gonna pay for the rental version of it or pay twice (the licensed version plus the fancy devices).

Despite that, it’s interesting how all the different owners of Propellerhead/Reason Studios kept the basic philosophy of the DAW going: to provide a complete studio in a single program.
