Expressive E has introduced Lounge Lizard Expressive Suite, a collection of 100 MPE presets for AAS’s physically modeled electric piano virtual instrument.
Creating MPE presets for an electric piano might strike some as odd, at first, since physical electric pianos only respond to velocity. But virtual instruments do not have the same constraints as physical ones, so MPE support lets users take the electric piano sound in new directions.

The Lounge Lizard Expressive Suite has been fully optimized for Osmose, Expressive E’s flagship MPE synthesizer and controller, and also works seamlessly with any MPE-compatible controller — including Ableton Push 3, ROLI Seaboard, and other expressive keyboards.

I’m not really sure this kind of expression really adds anything to these classic piano sounds. Some of it sounds a bit goofy
Agreed. I hope the modelling allows more options to take the sounds beyond a regular electric piano. Individual pitch bend isnt that direction!
I don’t understand the idea. I have both the aas instruments and an Osmose, what exactly am I to buy here?
It’s a bunch of presets designed specifically to show off the MPE capability of the plugins which now support MPE. Maybe they always did support MPE?
Either way it’s just presets. Unless you’re a new customer then you are also getting a discount on the AAS plugins
Expressive E has done similar with a few other soft synths. I bought a bunch of their presets for Phase Plant and they were really good. Though you do need an MPE controller to make use of them
I love my Chromaphone and Strum go-tos, but if I wanted to tweeze an EP, I’d do it from a synth. I’ll keep listening for more, though. I’m curious to hear where this approach can go.
