  1. I’ve had a few different Kaoss pads including the KP3 (non-+). I really love them for quick immediate effects and noodling around (and I love the talk mod effect way too much)

With that said though I’m disappointed but not surprised they’re still using RCA connections. The worst thing by far though with the KP3 was how difficult it was to manage gain staging. Incoming signals are always too hot and output too low I find. I wonder if that’s been improved nowadays?

    1. SERIOUSLY! I saw this launch and got so excited, and immediately went to check the connections. RCA again?!?!?! RCA is bad enough, but Korg is particularly bad at RCA. If I got this I’d probably use the headphone outputs. Grrrr…

  2. I’m not sure you should have included Ziv’s full name: a quick google showed up some very unsavoury and disappointing associations from (older) social media. I really love loopop, have subbed to his Patreon, and now I wish I knew less about him, not more. Note that loopop has been careful to keep his excellent work separate from his politics, he does not publish his name on Patreon or Youtube. But you did so here.

    1. Well, no one told you to check his name on Google.
I did a search of his name, and I don’t see any politics-related results, so maybe it’s your Google results?
Also, I wouldn’t trust everything I read so easily and anyway, I’d advise separating politics and creations, especially here.
This website’s comment section really needs a hotline.

    2. Huh? Hmmm he’s Jewish. Let me guess…he’s against all this anti Semitic free Palestine bs? Awesome! Thx for the info! Another reason to like him.

      1. It isn’t anti semitic to support Palestine. There is a confirmed genocide in Palestine. This is not the time to separate art and politics. And in fairness, loopop videos are hardly art. And supporting genocide is more than a political position.

    3. You do what you want but its a good idea to separate the person from their “art”. If it was about that Im sure you wouldnt like (even despise) A TON of the artists you like, enjoy and follow.

IMHO, in Loopop case, I have to get into a very particular transactional mindset in which in exchange of a view and maybe a like, I get to see the product being demo’ed kind of ‘in sync’ with its manual allowing be to evaluate what it brings to the table and how I might (or not) incorporate it to my workflow. I dont trust at all his video disclaimer at the beginning and listen to his Pros and Cons with a lot of skepticism.

    4. Everyone is so affected.. I just watch an amazing review of a device a few years too late and now I have to go continue my life not caring about politics. And now I feel like I should. I wont.

    5. Who cares about someone’s politics when it comes to musical equipment/gear or reviews?

I would buy a synthesizer made by the IDF or a synthesizer made by Hamas, as long as it sounded good and I wanted it.

    6. All “synthfluencers” are noxious and completely unnecessary. What we used to do was find a recording artist that made good music, and figure out what equipment they liked to use after. Still a completely valid way of building out a studio.

  3. If you decide your viewing based on someone’s politics, you won’t be doing much viewing. I find loopop reviews to be linear and useful. I lean towards wanting to kick rabble rousers like J.K. Rowling and Roger Waters in the crotch until they make sounds only a dog can hear. I turn to various kinds of Art to get AWAY from that crap.

You have a right to your opinions. I have the right to put in ear plugs when you express them so fiercely, you undermine your work. One of my opinions is that I need time and peace to create decent music. Best parameter for that: the Off switch. I rub the labels off of that and Mute buttons early on. 😛

  4. So lets not talk about politics, lets talk about the business model of talking yadda yadda on the internet and getting payed for that in some way in general.
uh, touchy subject and to political. HAHAHA

  5. Interesting discussion, and I have to agree with Mr Bagshaw. I too wish I knew less about Ziv Eliraz. I think imprisoning people for their beliefs about Palestine affects a lot of artists.

  6. Everything is politics. If you rather look away so you can have your whatever synth review and numbly live your life, says very poorly of the weight of any of your words and opinion about anything. We used to give rope necklaces to monarcs for less because of political statements.

  7. First of all, I live in the USA and I am of color, so those fake politics overseas have nothing to do with me. We have our own actual issues here, we have homeless, hungry, jobless, and NONE of them overseas are going to help us. I have no respect for anyone who is not personally doing something to change the situations they cry, whine, and give their opinions about. It’s just word salad, just words, with no action behind them. I came from a family of activists, musicians, and scholars who actually get involved, instead of being critics and fake experts armed with only opinions. No one is going to censor me, make me do anything, and I exercise my freedoms, and I do not get free gear to do ‘reviews’. I OWN all my gear and I am not a cheerleader for any singular brand. If people made more released music, they would have less time to debate about ‘politics’ that have nothing to do with them.Leave that for these horrible choices we have to vote for, because the opinionated folks will only run their mouths, not governments.
