Behringer today officially introduced the BM-17 Freq Box, their ‘Boogerfooger’ knockoff of the Moog MF107 Moogerfooger FreqBox pedal.
Like the original, the Behringer BM-17 Freq Box is designed to follow the pitch of incoming audio, and create basic synth sounds that can be used along, mixed with the input, and integrated with other modular gear.
Features:
- Effects generator with voltage-controlled oscillator
- Wide range of effects, from fuzz distortion to modular synth-style creation
- Envelope control for expressive frequency modulation
- Blend control for mixing between input signal and oscillator output
- Range switch for selecting oscillator frequency range
- Drive control for input gain
- Expression pedal input for real-time control
Pricing and Availability:
The Behringer BM-17 Freq Box is available now to pre-order, with a street price around $140 USD.
I have the original Moog one and I have to concede that this seems to sound quite a bit like it. It’s a niche type of effect but it’s more versatile than one might think.
Have they released all of the Moog pedals now or are there more that they have not done yet?
Seems like you need to understand how to use it well arrangement wise, probably 1/3 of the demos seemed serviceable.
