Reason Studios has announced new purchase and licensing options for Reason DAW and Reason Rack, following the company’s acquisition by AI music production tool company LANDR.
- Reason Rack is now available on its own for $199 as a plugin for creators that already have a preferred DAW and just want more affordable access to Reason’s 60+ instruments, effects, and modular workflow.
- Reason DAW is now available at a lower price of $299 (down from $499).
The company says that Reason+ subscribers will receive additional value at a lower annual price, consolidating creative tools and services that were previously accessed through separate subscriptions.
The expanded offering includes professional AI mastering, global music distribution, a library of over 3 million samples, more than 20 plugins, and AI-powered tools such as stem separation, vocal restoration, and sample adaptation.
See the Reason Studios site for more information.

Solid Reasoning š
Iām new to Reason.
What are the main differences between Reason RACK & Reason DAW ?
Reason Rack is a virtual studio, basically a collection of good virtual instruments that you can use in any Digital Audio Workstation, like Logic Pro.
Reason DAW is a complete digital audio workstation, and includes Reason Rack. So you can record and sequence your music in it, usins the Rack suite of virtual instruments.
If you already use another DAW, you’d probably only want Rack. Hope this helps!
Rack allows you to use Reason’s instruments, effects and players in any DAW that supports plugins. With the rack you connect various devices together in a modular way. IMO, it is one of the best value plugins on the market. You get an awful lot of quality for $199.
Reason DAW is a full featured DAW and includes a bunch of instruments, effects and players. It includes Reason Rack.
Reason is awesome – I’m quite interested in this Rack
But my god that is possibly one of the worst websites I’ve ever had the unfortunate chance to happen upon
Pure and utter marketing and design garbage
I’m already well-supplied, so I don’t need the full Rack. However, I think I’d drop $99 on Objekt alone. Just an observation….
if done right reason could be a powerhouse plugin environment
its the only one I use. it sounds lovely , feel its pretty close to being there already
I would like it to be more rack plugin focused
