If you’ve ever had a chance to noodle at a classic Obie, especially the 4/8-Voice or OB polys, one of the current versions should nail it. I’ve had a mass of Korgs and the same thing applies. I don’t sweat the small differences only a dolphin could hear. 😛 I’m perfectly happy to have only 90% of the original.

Some of the sourishness seemed a bit overstressed here and there. I suppose that is adjustable. Shouldn’t try too hard to sound actually analog. That’s an affectation, after all, and not a real component of the sound. If Tom Oberheim and all the other analog inventors could have completely eliminated off tuning from the get go I am sure they would have without a moment’s regret. But it became an institution and now every attempt at analog has to sound analog even if it sounds bad. That’s foolish. Throw out the bathwater, keep the baby.
