Behringer JT-2 Synthesizer Sound Demo

Behringer today shared this video intro for the JT-2, a new Euro-format rack monosynth, based on the voice and look of the Roland Jupiter-8.

The Behringer JT-2 is a desktop synth design in Euro format, meaning that it can be used as a desktop synth or removed from its case and mounted in a larger Eurorack system. But it’s not designed to be patchable, like the Behringer Neutron or Moog’s Eurorack synth line.

Features:

  • Dual oscillator design
  • Analog signal path based on VCO, VCF and VCA designs
  • 2 oscillators with saw, triangle/sine, square, noise, PWM, Osc sync and FM
  • LFO and envelope control of VCO 1 and/or VCO 2, for complex sounds using FM Cross modulation or Oscillator sync
  • Switchable 12dB/24dB resonating low-pass filter
  • Additional high-pass filter
  • LFO with sine, saw, square and random
  • 2 analog ADSR envelope generators with key follow for modulation of VCOs, VCF and VCA
  • Arpeggiator with Up, Down, Up-Down and Random patterns and up to 4 octaves range
  • Paraphonic mode for 2-note performances
  • 16-voice Poly Chain allows combining multiple synthesizers for up to 16 voice polyphony
  • Main module can be transferred to a standard Eurorack case
  • 53 controls
  • External CV and Gate input
  • MIDI implementation with MIDI channel and Voice Priority selection

Pricing and Availability:

The Behringer JT-2 is priced at $189 USD (outside the US). No info on availability or US pricing has been announced.

    1. This is coming first to test the response to the sound so further tweaks can be made for the JT-8/16.

      My guess at least…..

  1. Isn’t Beringer coming out with the JT-16? A 16 voice polyphonic Jupiter 8 clone in the near future? For under $1500?

  2. hm.. a Jupiter 8 voice with buttons – but they are for arpeggios? No patch memory there. So could that be the issue Behringer are struggelin with regarding the 16-voice they were working on?

  3. If I get eight of these and poly chain them together, voila! I have a Jupiter 8 with greater individual voice programmability. I can just pretend that the preset memory is broken.

It would be waaaaay less expensive than buying a 40+ year old vintage synth that you hope and pray doesn’t start emitting acrid smoke from the panel one day when you turn it on.
